Weddings, Funerals & Baptisms

Baptism

Anyone who lives in one of our parishes is eligible to be baptised, or have their children baptised. It is our policy for baptism to take place during one of our regular Sunday services.

Weddings

There are certain rules surrounding eligibility to marry within a particular parish church.  Anyone who lives in one of our parishes is eligible to be married in their parish church.  In addition anyone who has attended a church within our Benefice regularly or is on the electoral roll of one of our parishes is eligible to be married within the Benefice. However there are also new criteria that have made it possible to marry in one our churches if you have another special connection.
These are if you:
    Were baptised or confirmed there
Have lived within the parish at any time for at least 6 months
Have habitually attended worship within the Benefice at any time for at least 6 months

or if one of your parents, at any point during your life:
Has lived in one of  the parishes at any time for at least 6 months; or
Has habitually attended worship here for at least 6 months

or if one of your parents or grandparents was married here.

For more details regarding this please see the Church of England wedding website: www.yourchurchwedding.org.uk

In the case of a couple where there is a former husband/wife still living, we are pleased to offer a service of Prayer and Dedication.

Funerals

Before planning a funeral service, you should choose a funeral director who will oversee the arrangements for you and guide you through the process. They will contact the Rector about arranging the service.  However please do not hesitate to contact the Rector direct or Caroline Faircliff, Benefice Administrator at the Church Office for further advice and support.

All enquiries regarding Weddings and Baptisms should be made to The Benefice Administrator Bridget Tiffin.
