Evenlode Vale Benefice sits in the rolling green hills of the North Cotswolds and is centred on seven small villages.

The population living within the benefice was just under 2,000 in 2018. Just under a quarter were pre-school and school-aged, and just over a quarter were of retirement age. Bledington is the largest village, with 237 households, and Adlestrop the smallest with only 44.

We have seven parishes, but eight beautiful churches, three of which are Grade I listed.

All of our churches have seen improvements and extensions over the centuries, but some retain features first seen 1,000 years ago or more. Perhaps most noticeable is St Nicholas, Oddington, which was abandoned in Victorian times and has benefitted from benign neglect. Restoration has revealed a striking doom painting on the north wall and services are still held occasionally, despite the lack of electric lighting.

Our churches are normally open to visitors and for private prayer.

Please observe the Covid-19 instructions which you will find at the entrance to each church.
